King and Queen of Neptune Beach

It was so nice out last night that we snapped some pics - and recruited John to be our photographer so that we could both be in the pictures! We did some corny shots like the one in the water and the one walking down the beach :) The third one down is of John and Jake, and the bottom one is from memorial day weekend when we hung out in downtown New London - here we're walking back from Hanafin's, a cool Irish pub.

House etc.

This is the living room, and the view of our street - it's so nice when you're driving down the road and can see the water ahead of you..., a picture of the beach towards the 'public' side, Jake and I after work grilling and drinking our favorite new beverage gin and tonic!, our boudoir, the intimidating private beach sign where Dino usually mans his post, a shot from the hallway of Jake sitting on the porch off our bedroom, and the front of the house! We like to call it shabby chic, but John says it's really just the shabbiest house in the area haha - no matter though, we love it!

You've Got To Be Beading!

Since I'm off to work I thought I throw a few up of where I work! Here is the entrance, a shot from the cash register, the studio area, some ready made jewelry, and my first piece - a lanyard that holds my name badge!

More Later!!

Our beach

Our first Friday night at our new house we decided to spend the night fishing on the beach! Jake set me up with a fishing pole that you don't even have to hang on to! I like fishing out on the east coast much better than MI!! Oh, and this is our private beach...well, we share it with the other socialites that live in Neptune Park, but it's well guarded by this guy named Dino - haha we'll try and get a picture of him sooner or later.

Scenic Drive

These are pics from our Sunday drive - but we didn't drive far because gas prices are through the roof! I loved these trees, I think they look like witch hands, randomly everywhere you go there is bound to be a river or water body of some sort, this big rock formation was on the side of the road so of course I took the opportunity to pose on it! This turkey is one of Jake's new friends, he didn't have his turkey call, or whatever you call it, so he pulled over and leaned out the window speaking turkey language and the bird actually came over by the road and was 'talking' back! haha The last one is a ship in the downtown Mystic harbor, I took it on my way to work because I thought it was cool!

Ft. Griswold

Here we are at Fort Griswold! The background of the first picture is right where Jake works - it's very high security, however, and so we couldn't get a good shot of his building. I thought that the little girl flying a kite was sweet, so I took a picture of her :) The last picture is of the road that Jake drives to work everyday, it's right next to the Thames river and is dotted with little seafood joints - this was as close as we could get before taking pictures is illegal -- so this isn't where he works but it will have to do!

I'll write more later, but I just want to get some pictures up for now! The first one is the main drag in Mystic, where I work; then Jake and I are posing in front of the bridge - Jake drives over it everyday to get to work!; the last one is another shot of the stone fences that are everywhere...
